    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Turns out the problem is my DAC and its firmware. I have an Ares II. The latest DAC firmware fixes the issue, but sadly it also changes the sound signature substantially so I have rolled it back. I think some users have said the popping issue when switching tracks can be fixed at the DAC end...

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

I’ve tried both filters, and NOS/OS, and these don’t really make much of a difference.

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

UPDATE: This issue is now resolved for people who have a Denafrips Ares II with the 12th Anniversary Firmware update. Thanks to Klipscher for the heads up! It was just made available recently. It fixes the clicking and popping when switching between tracks using an optical connection. However...

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Thanks for this! Good to know there's a solution. My only comment is that I feel I shouldn't need to buy another piece of hardware to fix the problem (this is not directed at you, but is a general comment).

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Hi Wiim Support The problem happens when I manually switch between songs, thru the WiiM app: 1. on the same album (i.e. same sample rate) 2. from different albums with different sample rates. I think the click/popping is softer when it's on the same album (#1 above), and it also seems that...

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Hi WiiM Support - I confirm there is no clicking/pop noise on Spotify Connect. Sorry for misleading you in my earlier post (I thought there was). The clicking/popping happens with Qobuz, Amazon Music and Soundcloud, when using the WiiM app.

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Hi Ryan - I think this is probably rights. I've been doing some research around this issue and this makes a lot of sense. I'm wondering if I would have the same issue with Coax, but I don't have a coax source to test it with. In any event, I'm going to contact Denafrips and see what they say.

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

It happens for me on both Spotify (using Spotify Connect) and Qobuz (thru the WiiM app).

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Yep - this is precisely the behaviour I experience except more often than not it's more than one click AND the series of clicks have differing volumes. I'm using the Toslink cable to my DAC --> Glow Audio One tube amp. Sample rate and streaming source do not matter - I primarily use Spotify...

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Thank goodness it's not me! I've tried both the stock optical cable, and my QED cable and there's no difference. From the responses of other it sounds like it may be DAC-related. Perhaps if we all log a ticket then WiiM might be motivated to address it. Alternatively, if any of the admins...

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Thanks, TTC64. I did some research and I don't think this is the same problem. The clicking that may be addressed by a wifi signal reduction sounds like it occurs during playback - this is not the case here. It only clicks between tracks when you manually hit the next track or previous track...

    Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Hi all, I've had this problem since I got my WiiM Mini about 3 months ago. Each time you click "next", or select a new track, in each case while another track is playing, there is a pause (which is normal) followed my a clicking/popping sound before it plays the selected track. There is no...
