    OPUS support

Maybe this forum members are a "minority", not a "majority" ;) Anyway, you should really come out to know that MP3 or AAC are by far the most used codecs, and that a very small minority of listeners are using FLAC (I do, but I'm not part of the majority). Now that some streaming services are...

The de facto standard for the "majority" is : MP3. OPUS is way, way, better, but the "majority" doesn't care about sound quality.

A lossy encoded file should NEVER be transcoded once again, because of so called generation loss. Even if the initial lossy codec is close to bit perfect quality, aka indistinguishable from FLAC : after one more lossy conversion quality is not guaranteed.

@Wiimer you are out of topic. This thread IS not focusing on AAC versus OPUS. But for your information Opus IS without any doubt better than AAC at any bitrate : you will find 10x more papers confirming it than the opposite. There's no questionning about this since years. Even AAC HE+.

@WiiM Team please add OPUS : if you had to support 3 codecs Opus would part of the 3 :) (FLAC OPUS AAC)

    OPUS support

Wiim is the only of my devices that does not support OPUS. Even My Chromecast Audio plays OPUS with no problem. Please add OPUS support. OPUS is transparent above 128kbps (aka : "bit perfect indistinguishable" on a very high level audiophile system). I use OPUS 256kbps, which is total...

Above 96kHz there will be silence.

24 bits / 96KHz and above are encoding formats for studio work, not for listening. 16 bits / 48KHz is the best sampling rate you can expect for listening : so called "hires" formats are marketing bullshit and can even downgrade listening quality. This has been demonstrated and explained in...

    OPUS support

FLAC is my standard for Home Music collection. Anyway the files that are cached by most modern apps like Symfonium, etc.. are OPUS. OPUS is "listening transparent" aka "FLAC quality" above 160kbps : it's also a good way to save bandwidth , jimho. OPUS is the de facto "modern" standard for music...

Embed any Music Service WEB UI in the Wiim App through Webview

Hi, I think it would be very convenient to be able to open any Music Service WEB UI inside the Wiim App, for exemple Navidrome, Jellyfin, (etc...) This way Wiim would become compatible with any Subsonic / Plex / etc... any private Media Server. These services usually don't have DLNA/Airplay...

    Alexa / Smart-Home sensor feature

I have already done this kind of automation : please could you provide some documentation on API calls ?

    Alexa / Smart-Home sensor feature

This is not what I expect : please read previous answer ;)

    Alexa / Smart-Home sensor feature

You can translate this feature request as : "please make Wiim device to be seen as an Alexa sensor". What I need is that Alexa finds Wiim as an available sensor : providing boolean status : playback / no-playback.

    Alexa / Smart-Home sensor feature

ok :) GREAT !! Please tell me how I can setup a connected power plug to switch to ON when music is played, using the Alexa ecosystem, or standard Smart Home / Smart Things apps. Thanks

    Alexa / Smart-Home sensor feature

It would be really nice to provide a "sensor" feature in the Wiim device that would notify Alexa or any generic Smart Home service when some audio is played. This way : when audio is played we could wake-up the amplifier automatically, by using for example a connected IR remote, or a connected...
