Are WiiM Amp, WiiM Pro Plus, WiiM Pro and WiiM Ultra compatible with WiiM Mini protocol?

I'm the developer of the Windows Store App: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nc9q98gzmlr?rtc=1&hl=en-us&gl=US and I would like to give the project a refresh. I was wondering if the original protocol is still compatible with the new WiiM devices and if anybody can test if the basic functions...

    Improved Alarm Features

Lol the Squeezebox. I didnt hear about it for a long time. Pretty messy how Logitech handle the thing, almost as messy as their Harmony stuff... Other companies should study how bad Logitech manage to screw things up. My main objection with Wiim light (and partially to how alarms are handle on...

    Improved Alarm Features

Yes, agree. The alarm should works no matter what. They had the opportunity to work on the alarms for their new Wiim light but they didn't really considered the alarma critical piece of the product even though is one the main feature / usercase.

What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

Not specifically a product but what about a plugin for the StreamDeck? https://developer.elgato.com/documentation/stream-deck/sdk/overview/ it's a 1 afternoon project and could help to spread the brand around.

Have to kill app often to get it to work - normal?

My suggestion to troubleshoot connection issue would be to manually generate SSDP requests (UDP discovery packets) using a PC connected to the wired network. I noticed that my wiim mini is extremely picky positionwide. Connect your PC to the wired network: Make sure your computer is connected...

    Developers question: USN/uuid

I am currently working on developing a HomeAssistant integration and have been trying to find a comprehensive list of USN/UUID values for different hardware models. However, I have not been successful in finding such a list. For those who may not know, a USN (Unique Service Name) value is a...

    Extremely reactive Android App

I'm writing a simple Microsoft Store Wiim Remote control app using the http API and I noticed how reactive is the android (and iphone?) app is. Do anybody know how they achieve that? Is it possible that the WiiM device send (undocumented?) UDP packets over the network connection for feedback...

    WiiM Remote

Writing that reply made me actually thing that I'm all for a <$20 remote but would be also nice to have the option for a fancier remote. Learn from Apple and not just from Amazon. Wiim don't need to bait and switch cheap hardware to try to sell a service. A lot of Wiim customers probably have...

    WiiM Remote

wow, thanks for the explanation! Beside the clickbait headlines the layoff are real and Alexa got very bad very fast in last weeks. Maybe coincidence. When I read "cast" I always thought of a device streaming directly to another device over local network (aka awful and to be used only for...

    WiiM Remote

I get that the Alexa ecosystem control devices that don't have a microphone (that's the whole point). I didn't know that to be able to use amazon music the device needed to be configured as an alexa device (that sound awful). Why Amazon Music would want to use a "cast" service for their...

    WiiM Remote

What the microphone for? It's not that a Wiim device is intrinsically aware of any voice assistant service.

    WiiM Remote

No I didn't thanks for the link. I'll still write and deploy a standalone app because having a regular app feel a bit less geeky and a bit more integrated in the OS. I saw that Wiim is developing a Windows Client too. I'm just thinking a super straightforward remote. Something 1 click away, easy...

    WiiM Remote

Those harmony remote were so close to be great but Logitech always managed to mess things up. Last time I checked they were discontinue the line completely. The harmony hub is a network device so should have be theoretically possible (and trivial) to write calls for the Wiim API. But I'm not...

    WiiM Remote

I'm thinking about writing a Wiim Remote Control app for the MicrosoftStore using the http API. I could use this for the UI.
