Hi, and thanks for the reply, @WiiM Support I think a customised Wiim Mini would be perfect as a 'Wiim Sub' The only concern would be the DAC in the mini. It would be more than sufficient for this purpose, in my opinion, but there will likely be some 'audiophiles' who would like a better one.

They'll likely use a CS43131 DAC/amp chip, cheap and very performant.

Well, as I said, that is what we're assuming, but I don't think it's actually been confirmed as yet. Hopefully it has decent power output.

Not a lot of speculation on the 3.5 mm connection. I'm assuming it will be a headphone output, possibly using a CS43131 chip, but it could also be a mic input for room correction, with a Wiim mic sold as an optional add on (the other new product?).

Yes, it will be dual purpose, allowing for audio output and/or connecting a USB thumb drive.

It's impossible to please everyone and you're unlikely to find a device which has only the features you need and nothing else. My AVR must have about 100 inputs/outputs/features/sound modes etc I will never use, but I still bought it because it has the features I need.

Are you being serious? What about the next person who needs analogue in and a display, but doesn't use a subwoofer or WiFi for example?

I do this with one of my Pros (I have volume fixed on this one) with the other I've lowered the max volume further as a precaution as I use it to control system volume and little hands can easily get hold of the remote.

Its in 'audio settings' I think it's called that (can't check app at the minute). Section where you choose bit depth, sample rate etc

You can set a safe max volume level as well, just in case.

Even if it just displayed the volume, input/output etc it would be very useful for me personally as my better half (and other technophobes) will likely be using it more than me and some way of confirming basic settings without having to use a smartphone app would be great.

My AVR and DACs have tiny displays which are rarely used, but they are still useful and I would certainly rather have them than not. I can't see my AVR display from my listening position, but I occasionally use it to visually confirm settings etc. I can do this via an app if I wish, but...
