Using it encouraged to me tweak my sub unit. Once done it sounded almost flat (bass wise) then it helped me pinpoint one low frequency to dip at a narrow bandwidth.
And one high frequency to dip
The 2 mid boost suggestions sounded rotten so I didn't do those.
But I adjusted the ammounts to...
Roon has a lot of bands in its PEQ and you might enjoy the look and journalistic element of Roon.. I have it but very often can't be bothered to keep my laptop open just to listen to music...Wiim app + Qobuz is quick & easy
I have re evaluated my sub speakers frequency & volume. And re tested. I am still getting to grips with it. After the setting suggestions, I opened up the lower range all the way down to to 20hz which is not particularly wise as my systems low frequency most likely drops off sharply after 35hz...
Doh! Of course. It worked instantly!
Thanks so much!
Here is my 4 band PEQ advice (to a harman curve) - I will try it!
As the Wiim is limited to 4 bands - I set 4 bands inside the HomeCurve settings
SOLUTION FOUND IN BELOW POSTS. Any tips for getting the Sweep tone to play out of the Wiim?
I have disabled fades and anything else I can think of...
Perhaps I need to set it to 44.1 k ? output? I dunno - I have emailed support. (nope tried that - didn't work)
the sleep tone plays...
I am looking forwards to trying this app!
I have used a YouTube low frequency tone sweep video I have dialed down at a narrow bandwidth (42hz) so that the youtube tone sweep sounds even. (It was way too loud before)
As a 25 year career audio engineer (pop / rock music studios) I want to offer...
Thanks everyone.
Working great.
I could do with a few more bands though
But this will good. To be honest Roon was crashing every 20 mins or so and it's not always convinient to be using my laptop for it.
I might even concider cancelling Roon now.
This is a (close-ish) copy of my Roon settings
As a workaround I use the parametric eq in Roon.
It is not perfect however - every eq adjustment causes a short dropout of music (annoying)
I played a youtube "tone sweep" and identified a loud "node" @ 40hz
I dipped this at a narrow notch until the tone sweep sounded even.
I then added...
I tell you what's amazing.for iphone users of a 'certain age' I am 63
Qobuz + airpopro2 + Mimi hearing test app Audiogram added to Apple Health.
Compensates 100% brilliantly for my hearing loss.
Qobuz (and youtube and Spotify) sound amazing now.
All audio on my iphone is perfectly adjusted...
What's that? I saw it but just thought they had just renamed all the Roon tweakage to "muse"
Seems like something a should look closer at...?
To find the room node I just found an audio test album on Qobuz.
Update - removed TC Electronics Finalizer 96+
Added the Mutec Ref 10 SE120 wordclock generator
Now using Roon's parametric eq to both reduce a 30hz bass node (and treble boost for my hearing loss)
