    WiiM Ultra

I wonder what chip will be used in the new Wiim Ultra. Any predictions?

    True standby mode.

None of us has one device at home, but we have 40-50 of them. Each consumes energy unnecessarily while on standby. Large companies (like SONY) and small ones (like Mecool) understood this and now the standard is 0.2-0.3W in standby mode. Therefore, I would like to encourage Wiim to be more...

    True standby mode.

So. Wiim Pro consumes 1.7W in standby mode and the same amount when turned on. It does not make sense. There is a Bluetooth remote control that can turn on the device. I have a Mecool KM2 streamer (connected to the network via RJ-45) with a Bluetooth remote control, which draws 3W during...

    True standby mode.

A true standby mode is needed. If I turn it off with the remote control, the device should consume a maximum of 0.2W.

    WiiM Ultra

The display can show the name, author of the song and cover. After switching to standby mode, widgets could show the weather for today and the next few days, or other useful data.

    WiiM Ultra

A license fee is needed for LDAC and APTX HD. If it is to be WIIM Ultra aspiring to a more premium product than WIIM Pro Plus, it should support better codecs.

    WiiM Ultra

That's right, several months of design work. It is worth adding wifi 6, better bluetooth codecs such as LDAC, APTX HD.

    WiiM Ultra

We are waiting for more information ;) There are many questions. How big will the display be? Will it be touchscreen? Will the case be larger than Pro Plus? Will the same DAC be used as the Pro Plus? Internal or external power supply? Will there also be a sound USB input?

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

Wow, even the antenna cable is soundproofed in foam. Complete silence :)

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

Thanks @steadyshot! Finally, photos inside the housing :) The DAC/ADC analog section is much larger. The digital section has also been redesigned, see the power circuits - probably for better filtration and noise reduction. A lot of electronics for such a small box :)

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

I'm in a comfortable situation that I haven't bought it yet ;) (I bought an old Wiim Pro before) and I can wait about a month or two.

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

@onlyoneme thanks for checking. @WiiM Support when will it be possible to buy wim pro plus pcb v3?

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

Yes, this version is probably identified in the API :)

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

Thanks, this top pcb is for the DAC and ADC sections. At the bottom there is a PCB responsible for, among other things, power supply.

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

@onlyoneme yes you are right there are 2 pcb inside. It is possible that the api returns the general hardware version. @nerone is your photo shows the top pcb?

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

Why is the PCB version on the board different than the one read using the API? It should be the same. Request to @WiiM Support for comment.

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

Why do you leave it open? Does it heat up?

Thank you very much for your answer!

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

Onlyoneme is there any power problem with Wiim Pro Plus v2? I'm waiting for availability for sale. Wiim Pro Plus is currently unavailable on amazon. It is possible that there will be a new version with pcb v3. Maybe Wim will confirm?

My WiiM Pro Plus 2nd sample test

This is good news. It must be remembered that the new version of the PCB does not only solve the problem with low tones that we wrote about earlier. There are other fixes, improvements, etc. This means that Wiim is actively working on its hardware. Thanks to them for this!
