Meet WiiM Ultra - The Digital Hub for Your Music

With all these great features, I would love to see an extended remote controller for the Ultra. Audio Pro (using Linkplay as well) has some nice models for their devices.

    No sound from Optical Out

Maybe the OP uses a regular jack to rca plug which he put in the AUX output of the mini. No issues there. But he needs to select the correct output of the mini (and not the optical output).

    Setting up stereo speakers

True, no Chromecast. Also, group (multiroom) is currently limited to 16/44 (CD Quality) for all WiiM (Linkplay) devices. Next to that, most optical connected speakers are limited to 24/96.

    Setting up stereo speakers

Two WiiM Mini’s suffices. Less big and they work with the physical remote.

    Universal remote support

If only the Beoremote One BT was able to connect… Beautiful design and more shortcuts, that’s all I need.

Tidal Connect with non hard wired speakers

AirPlay 1 and 2 don’t do High Res. Best you can get with AirPlay 1 is CD Quality.

    Casting Turntable

How about getting rid of the Sonos products and replace them with WiiM and Audio Pro Products? Since both brands use Linkplay Technology you can use either the WiiM or Audio Pro App to control every device. I replaced my Sonos Moves and Connect with Audio Pro’s A15 and the WiiM Mini and I...

Well, mainly for the User Experience. I was hoping for Deezer Connect to work with the Wiim Pro but it didn’t (yet). (Should it work?) Then, using Deezer native on the Wiim Pro, I saw that the bitrate fluctuated between tracks so I got curious and tested the AirPlay function in the Deezer iOS...

While streaming via Airplay, the app shows 256kbps bitrate only?

It definitely doesn’t look good. Still, there is always the option the Wiim displays the wrong information. Any idea how we can check with Wiim if they can troubleshoot?

While streaming via Airplay, the app shows 256kbps bitrate only?

Plot twist! Just downloaded the Deezer App and started to stream via AirPlay 2 to my Wiim Pro and guess what? A 900kbps stream…

While streaming via Airplay, the app shows 256kbps bitrate only?

So basically, with regard to AirPlay 2, Apple Music Apps (iOS / macOS) stream AAC and Mac Systems stream ALAC to AirPlay 2 devices.

While streaming via Airplay, the app shows 256kbps bitrate only?

It gets worse. Streaming directly from any Apple Music App (iOS or macOS) results into a 256kbps stream while streaming directly from my MacBook results into a 900kbps stream… Music App stream MacBook Stream

    Editable Playlists

Please realise the editable Playing Next overview. If I create this list currently I cannot swap tracks around. It can be as easy as Apple Music does this with some horizontal lines next to the track:
