I am or was a B&W fan of the made in England era. I never sampled the 603S2. But did test out the 683 or whatever B&W named them many many years ago. I wasn't impressed. Didn't have the acoustic nuances that I used to enjoy with the older B&Ws. Felt like another big box speakers you know...
Max volume from streamer for theoretically max databits. Preamp for gain control.
This assumes no EQ is applied on the Wiim. Need to compensate for that if you do. It's a whole 'nother topic.
I find a majority of the audio review sites are just a jumble of word salad.
Maybe there is an app where you can simply ask it to come up with something and it would spit out a bunch of adjectives. And you can tweak them to your liking?
Your brown bookshelves are quite recessed. The black large speakers appear to be placed in front of the bookshelves that would affect sound dispersion. Do you move them away when using the brown speakers?
Why would you need an amp upgrade to accommodate a subwoofer?
You can daisy-chain the smsl --> integrated amp --> speaker line out -- > sub -->sub amp speaker line out --> bookshelf speakers.
Let the sub X-over define what frequency to hand off to your bookshelf speakers.
IRL under normal non-ear busting, keeping wife happy, neighborhood mob mitigating sound levels, an amp generally pushes out no more than 5W with slight increases during dynamic low frequency slams. This is with modern efficient speakers.
Wattage is such a commodity these days that it really...
Sounds about right at least for the first part.
Can Wiim Pro decode multi-channel sound from the TV? Do you have to downmix the output signal from the TV into stereo?
I remember a Youtuber made a video A/B-ing a big-box Pioneer AVR and a top end Marantz AVR via "blind test". Comments were collected. Turned out the Youtuber pranked the listeners. All he did was turned up the volume.
I'm not trying to discredit these sort of videos. I am sure the intent of the...
I just walk away from my Wiim when I am done. Don't think it consumes alot of power in sleep mode.
Heck my sub goes to sleep as well and powers on when there's a signal. I only unplug everything from the wall socket when I go on vacations.
Started out not liking the movie. Watched it the 2nd time a year later and began to appreciate it. OST is pretty phenomenal. Real test on sound system to handle high dynamics, vocal composition (should not sound bright) to total silence.
