The idea is for the Wiim to have Plexamp not Plex itself. You will still need to have your Plex server powered on.

The LMS community folks have already created a new Tidal plugin that removes any reliance from the mysqueezebox.com service. It's in development now and works well. I believe there is also work on a new Pandora plugin as well

I agree, the Wiim as a player for Plexamp would be ideal. I probably wouldn't use it but I can see others using it as there primary. I think Plex and Plexamp are pretty good.

I use Plexamp basically the same way, in the car and on mobile if I'm away from the house. otherwise I'm using LMS 99% of the time. I haven't tried using tailscale yet.

For Squeezelite support you will need the pro, pro Plus or the amp On the mini your only LMS option is using upnp bridge plugin. If I were you I'd get the pro at a minimum.

Make sure you are putting in tickets for this. I put one in months ago and it was acknowledged but nothing has come of it. Maybe if they get multiple tickets they will act.

Yes, but it will not survive a Wiim reboot. If the Wiim is rebooted for any reason, (firmware update, etc) Squeezelite will revert back to the Wiim name.

If you have a Wiim Pro you should not be using any upnp plugins in LMS. The Wiim Pro has Squeezelite built in and you should be able to see the Wiim from LMS as a player while using LMS with the material skin or the default LMS web interface.

Yeah, I'm not sure why you had these problems. It's unfortunate because for me the Wiim Pro and LMS using material skin has been perfect. I have run the Wiim and a picoreplayer RPI using material skin since the Wiim started supporting Squeezelite.

Are your local files flac or alac? Or something else? I believe there have been issues with Alac when using LMS reported before not necessarily related to the Wiim

I don't use it but my wife does. Using Spotify connect through LMS allows us to use our material skin now playing screen and sync with our picoreplayer. I worked around it by using the group player plugin which allows a different name for the group player. Wiim acknowledged the request but...

But you cannot have a separate name for the Wiim and Squeezelite client which would be helpful when one wants to use the Spotify plugin in Squeezelite vs the Wiim Spotify connect. And yes I put in a request for this along with the IP assignment.

The Wiim is a Squeezelite player so you will have to point one of those controller apps to your Wiim player in order to play to it

You are going to have to use squeezectrl, material skin or the default LMS skin to access these things. Wiim app is not a LMS controller.
