IMO, this pool makes any sense. WiiM marketing team haven’t provided any meaningful specs yet for the WiiM Ultra.
All I’ve seen so far it’s just a pretty render. There are similar looking devices anything from $150 to $3500.
I have so many questions:
What is the screen resolution? is it OLED...
@Shacky, may I ask: what problem are you trying to solve?
For example: you can connect both Pi and WiM to the router (or buy a $15 network switch) if the goal is to improve the latency
I recently chat w. WiiM support with regards the BT codecs. Here’s what they replied
At present, our devices support only the SBC Bluetooth codec. It is normal to have delays when using Bluetooth. Please be assured that we are actively working on enhancing our technology and reducing these...
Exactly. The only thing that matters is how it sounds to your ears. The “experts” in the article provided only their subjective opinion w. no measurements.
Also the conflict of interest is obvious. The “experts” just cannot give five stars to $300 amp when they sell $3000 amp. The $3000 amp...
Noise and distortion of the WiiM’s internal DAC lays beyond non-audiophile hearing ability. Tho there are ppl out there who say they can actually hear difference between DACs, power supplies, cables, 16 and 24bits etc. I think the only way to know for sure is try an external DAC (better a few)...
I have a somewhat similar setup running 4 VLANs. I never had any problems with the WiiM discovery. Would you be able to share more details about your network setup. @kenilElk
I was always wandering what makes a “better“ clock in terms of CD transports/players
The accuracy of digital clock is measured in ppm which corresponds to crystal’s frequency deviation from nominal value. It can be measured just like THD/SNR.
But for some reason no one who speaks about...
IMO you are paying extra $$$ for the design of the housing. Internally it’s most likely the same OEM parts made by some mega manufacturer in Asia. There is nothing wrong with that. Aesthetics matters almost as much as the sound.
WiiM and Apple TV remotes are BT. Not 100% but pretty sure the Samsung is also BT.
You can use the TVs remote (doesn’t matter BT or IR) to control Apple TV it’s done via HDMI-CEC. Unfortunately there is no way to do the same w. WiiM. Unless you’ve got a raspberry pi, usb IR receiver and some...
Looks like self signed cert. Depends what library you’re using there is a way to disable verification. In Python it will look like
requests.get('https://example.com', verify=False)
I’m running WiiM Pro Plus with PA5 II…also Plus.
There’s not very loud but audible pop when the 12v trigger is deactivated.
Does anyone else have this ’issue’?
I’m really interested in upgrading the WiiM power supply. Would anyone be able to post some WiiM’s SNAD measurements w. different power supplies. I’ve been searching around so far what I saw at most were just measurements of the power supplies themselves. Thank you
7 Pros and one mini. Wow! Now I’m curious what you connected to them.
I think the green arrow you mentioned means the device has an update pending.
Unfortunately can’t suggest you anything better than to DIY it.
Use WireShark to see what payload is sent from your phone to WiiM when you check...
