I disagree slightly: It depends on your usage. After the firmware update I have no problems with my WiiM amp in a closed cabinet. The cabinet is roomy though: plenty of air around the unit, only an Apple TV, 20cm away from it. The amp does not get that warm anymore.

How sure are you that is is the streaming quality that is the problem? Denon has many high-end amps that my be better suited to your speakers than the wiim. I suggest you compare the exact same source on both amps to rule out that it is not the amp.
