Does WiiM have plans to make an Ultra available to ASR for measurements?

Thanks for that insight. Reading a few other sources confirms it's a fairly complex topic in terms of what's audible. I've noticed that keeping my external DAC at max volume and controlling the overall system volume via my WiiM Pro produces obvious, far better results than the other way around...

I'd like to better understand how/why adjusting the volume on a Pro compromises the bit perfect aspect of the stream. Any additional info would be appreciated.

Is it too early to anticipate the power conversion kit to replace the SMPS with a external facing barrel connector?

If I'm putting out a poll about pricing and setting the lowest selection at $349, I'd be sure to offer the device at an introductory price of $299 to exceed all expectations. I don't see how it helps WiiM to hint at $349 and then ask $400+. But that's me.

With the 3.5 inch display, I'm fine with one VU meter instead of a pair.

Would certainly be interested in beta testing if the opportunity presented itself.

From the article, USB-A "for media playback" doesn't sound like USB that will provide digital output to a DAC. Am I misreading that?
