Any update on Android landscape mode? Seems crazy it's been this long and still not available, come on guys... if you want people to treat wiim products as serious contenders for integrated home audio solutions then landscape mode on a tablet is one of the first wife-friendly features that is...
True, although I've tried raising tickets to no avail. I'm happy to continue trying posting on the forums as I'm interested to gauge what other Wiim users are thinking in the hope that if there's consensus then Wiim may take on board those opinions and either improve/fix the current product via...
The usability (features/controls and how well it operates) of any product ultimately determines how well it will be received in the market, regardless of ultimate (or claimed) audio quality. I bought Wiim on paper spec alone, tried it for 3 months and pretty much gave up on it due to usability...
For a new/upgraded product, I think these features would be key:
User interface:
> Hardware on/off standby button (with corresponding status led, and 3.5mm/12V trigger output which follows unit power status)
> Hardware input select button, with visual feedback (led/s) on unit front panel
>...
The simple (obvious) solution is to have binary ON/OFF status for the Wiim. Then add a button to the app to toggle between the two. 12V trigger out just needs to follow that status. Any auto on/off status change (detect spdif signal, no-signal timeout etc) can be layered on top of that, but keep...
I've asked the same questions for the same reasons without much luck getting a response from Wiim.. basically just give the app a standby ON/OFF button and have the Wiim (and 12V trigger output) follow its status. Simple! Basically exactly what the Yamaha WXC-50 streamer does very nicely. It's...
I'm on firmware 4.8.512537 and it's still bad with Samsung TV. It was much better for a few weeks during February/early March (firmware updates during that time must have improved things) but a recent update has broken it again 😖
Same here, in fact the problem is worse now than it was back in January when I first received the Wiim Pro. It has had multiple firmware updates in that time, and for a few weeks until recently it seemed to have fixed the spdif distortion/dropouts problem, but I recent update sometime in the...
Thanks for the reply... with all respect, I think you are missing the whole point of users wanting a standby function - that is, to enable useful slave control over other equipment (eg power amplifiers or active speakers) that are connected to the wiim pro. If you examine the behaviour of a...
Mine started working eventually, I guess they fixed the firmware quietly but now it works on my tablet and my phone. Interestingly the tablet is 2.4GHz only, but still works even when wiim is set to 5GHz only
@WiiM Support Any update on when landscape mode for android tablets will be available? This is a really important feature for many users who are hoping to use a dedicated tablet for audio system control...
Hi there can anyone point me in the right direction to access/play podcasts directly on Wiim Pro? May be something obvious I'm missing somewhere but thought I'd ask as I haven't found it yet...
Yes, sorry I forgot to mention, volume control works as expected within the Wiim app, just not from within the native Amazon app (which kind of defeats the point of running the Amazon app rather than accessing Amazon from within Wiim)
Good summary, I've noticed the same gripes eg search box unresponsive at times, and I echo your desire for some sort of meaningful/useful standby light regime, ideally selectable in Settings menu. I'm also struggling with periodic distortion/muting using spdif input, but I've raised a separate...
