The interesting thing about Belt was that, to the best of my knowledge, he never set out to make a fortune out of his daft products.

They may have been batshit-crazy, but they were affordable iirc.

Must admit as an ingenue I did try a few of these “mods”, not necessarily his. Like the little black plastic triangles that you stuck on the corner of doors and the ring of what looked like lino you stuck to a CD to stabilise it as it spun round. Like lots of things, I heard not a whisper of a change…
