WiiM Pro + Schiit Bifrost 2 = No Sound *Solved*

Hello Community,

I've got a small issue. My current setup is wired as follows:

WiiM Pro > Coaxial (Optical also works) > Denon x6700 Receiver

This setup works fine but I'd like to use my external DAC as follows:

WiiM Pro > Coaxial (or Optical) > Schiit Bifrost 2 > RCA > Denon x6700h Receiver

I'm getting no sound with this setup.

I've verified that the DAC and all cables work with the following configuration:

CD Player > Coaxial (Optical) > Schiit Bifrost 2 > RCA > Denon x6700h Receiver

The CD player works without issue. The problem is when I try to replace the CD player with the WiiM Pro. I'm getting no sound.

Any ideas?

Change your output to 44.1 and see if that works. Then progress up to 96 and 192. Perhaps the Schitt can’t handle 192?

I can confirm I’ve got a WiiM Pro hooked up to a Bifrost 2 with coax and a WiiM Mini hooked up to another Bifrost 2 with Optical - both in 24/192 no problems. You’ve got something else going on…

Fixed it. It was the input setting on the receiver. Both optical and coaxial are working now through the DAC.

Glad to hear it. My Wiim’s sit on a whole pile of Schiit. Sounds great.. A friendly reminder to use Pure Direct on that Denon to bypass onboard ADCs when playing through the Bifrost.
