Thanks for the on screen Radio button and BBC sub folder, however they are the low bitrate (96) versions of the stations.

Any chance you could replace these with the higher (320) bitrate versions?
WiiM probably can't differentiate between UK and Rest of the World users so can't use the 320kbps streams.

Try using the links referred to in this post in Open Network Stream, or use the bbc sounds app and Chromecast or even airplay to your WiiM.

Hi @Jamiewednesday

We will check these versions of the stations. Usually, their bitrate should be 320kbps.

NRK is the same as BBC. For best quality you have to use direct link. I believe many European national broadcasters have that policy.
For most commercial stations such easily browsed collectors are fine.

Oh I do already. Just figured if they’ve gone to the trouble of an on screen radio button with a BBC sub folder, then using the optimum bit rate within their presets would seem logical.

This is related to the new firmware and it’s inclusion of BBC subfolder within new radio button that came with it.
The rest of the quote was "or even airplay".
Which obviously isn't (directly) possible with an ultra.
Hence should have stopped!

Similar thing for me...

"Local Radio" is empty. "Top iHeartRadio Stations" is empty.

Basically useless... Let me decide what radio stations I want in the "Widget", not what Wiim thinks I want!

The Wiim hardware is great BUT the UI/UX is very poor!
Seems like my Ultra silently got the update.

Same thing here. No local radio stations found in Belgium either. The new "Radio" icon is just taking up space at the homescreen and is pretty useless otherwise.

Well 'radio' is useless after all. Nothing but commercials these days played on 'radio'. Oh and stupid presenters who think they 'own the airwaves' with their crap.
I only need Radio Paradise so I'm good 😊.
Rant over...

No commercials on BBC radio 🙂

There are many good radios without commercials. I listen to "1.FM" or "Nova classic rock" as examples. Plus of cause the contry specific Danmarks Radio (DR) that is also commercial free.

There are the RadioFrance/Fip radio packages in Icecast that can be interesting... but unfortunately, even on their more "demanding" radio stations... it's a sad and poor AAC192k on all of them... (a shame for such a company)
but still, give it a listen...
(hoping that they return to a qualitative approach at least 320aac or mp3 on radio stations broadcasting mainly acoustics)

Radio X has ads but is good entertainment otherwise…R3 is still great if not quite as top drawer as it used to be. R4 is worthy. 6 Radio is OK but a bit up itself. About half of R2 is still fun and listenable. R5 can be less silly than Talksport.

You know Radio France is available as 280kbps HLS...
