I had something simiular happen with one of my Wiim Minis and raised a ticket with Wiim. They asked for proof of purchase and then shipped a replacement when I provided the proof. No quibble.
You might want to consider using a mobile phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
I think there may be some challenges but in theory both Wiims should be able would be able to connect to the hotspot and see each other across the hotspot Wi-Fi network
When I play the Sanctuary Radio streams on my Wiim Pro I get no track info displayed but when I run Foobar2K on my desktop and play the same streams I do get track info.
Radio Paradise displays track info on both

Open a browser on your phone/tablet and copy the link to your clipboard and then just paste it into the network stream input box of the Wiim app
I don't know about Tunein but Vtuner are very poor at updating their URLs for dead stream links.
Vtuner have not properly updated their service to point to the BBC HLS streams
