    Bluetooth codecs

It is true. Sample - latest Amazons FireTV 4k Max firmware has added LDAC codec support to its Bluetooth stack. In the 2014–2015 years, when the aptx set of codecs had a new Qualicomm ownership from CSR, the unconfirmed rumour was that the new license AptX cost of encoding was quite low per...

We cannot define a static IP address for the device in Wiim apps to avoid a re-discovery?

Hi, That is quite frustrating; we cannot define a static IP address for the device in Wiim apps for known Wiim devices each time it starts a new device discovery. I have three or even four private networks at home, like 192.168.0.x, 192.168.1.x, and 192.168.2.x. Wiim Pro+ connected with wired...

    Can't get 24bit 192kHz to work

I have got and tested [with Wiim Pro+] another promising 'toslink to hdmi' audio embedder, a 'no-name' Chinese little brother of German Lindy HDMI Audio Embedder. Even if it looks quite identical to Lindy embedders, and it seems, it uses same Sil9396 chip (its system board is deeply glued to...

    Streaming ATMOS from Tidal

It's a reason why I have to use Amazon Fire TV dongle too for Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio music

    WiiM pro PSU pic.

Indeed, it is a strange step they did. Something like one of the many other power units (like on a photo below), could be a more accurate solution.

    WiiM pro PSU pic.

Their PSU board design looks quite professional, the idea to use a classic power transformer is good, the decision to put all of that inside the Wiim is quite contraversional yet. It may or may not be a win, finally. Let's see how popular that and similar Wiim PSU mods will be and what people...

    WiiM pro PSU pic.

It seems the PSU kit is to be installed only by the PSU kit developers at their site, so it is not a choice at all. I'm thinking of trying a big 6V rechargeable battery as a Wiim Pro+ PCU combined with a supercapacitor, then evaluating the Wiim sound quality change (if any that I might discover).

    Can't get 24bit 192kHz to work

Indeed it is not  . Audio embedding HDMI chip it seems, is Sil9396 (Lattice Semiconductor now)

    Can't get 24bit 192kHz to work

I could confirm Sonos HDMI eArc Toslink audio adapter is not working for audio embedding, at least with Samsung soundbar Q930B and Wiim Pro Plus/ Wiim Mini Instead, good news is that Lindy HDMI 18G Audio Embedder is working being happy with Wiim 192/24 audio embedded (toslink) stream and...

    Can't get 24bit 192kHz to work

It is a good but quite expensive way, the feature you referenced, called as an 'hdmi audo embedding' (aka hdmi audio inserting, hdmi audio merging). I am on the same situation like @nostraduckus with Samsung Q930 soundbar that has no independent but only shared with its 'hdmi out' toslink port...
