It's not available for foobar.
I've just had a quick look (using MinimServer) and it's not a navigation shortcut if that's what you were expecting, but an artist shuffle/radio.
Assuming they're storing the browsing container IDs (as they are for bookmarks) they're not going to be very stable...
Artist presets are only available in "Advanced" browsing mode (USB Input and select media servers).
You can create a bookmark but that'll only save you a click.
Did you allow the WHA to index your files ("Advanced" mode)? If you did, switch back to Legacy mode (via vertical ellipsis menu).
Are your tracks visible in BubbleUPnP?
What you're seeing is expected.
There's a media server component on the Ultra (based on MiniDLNA) that scans the tags in your tracks and builds a database in the root of your USB drive (wiim_cache\files.db). I believe this database contains the browsing hierarchy you'll see if you were to...
I did mean that the negatives outweigh the positives.
The only benefits are:
Grid view
Album sort options (Title, Artist, Year, Artist+Year)
A-Z jumpbar
All of which should be available in "Legacy" mode.
If I'm being generous (ignoring the complexity and incompatibilities it introduces)...
My understanding is that the WHA downloads all the metadata and media URLs from MinimServer (which don't change across scans unlike some other servers) so I don't think it's possible to become disconnected - unless the server is of course. Had you performed a MinimServer rescan?
If you really...
In "Advanced" mode they're using the metadata of the remote media server, something that doesn't exist for SMB shares.
I would have thought the database was on the phone, but given the app doesn't need to be running (during the indexing), maybe it's on the WiiM device. App storage (before and...
Assuming it's pulling from a media server it can't make any changes.
Depending on the capabilities of your server the negatives do generally far outweigh the positives (grid view, additional sort options in album view and A-Z jumpbar), but it can't hurt so give it a go!
The UI is a little more modern but it's very limited; only the following indexes are available: Albums, All Artists, Tracks, Playlists, Genre and Folders.
I haven't been able to reproduce your second issue using Bluetooth as source, but if you can reliably reproduce it and document the steps it would be worth raising the issue in a ticket with WiiM.
I'll raise the UPnP PAUSED_PLAYBACK issue when switching sources as that's clearly a bug.
You've got a lot going on there.
If you stop (not pause) the source playing (be it Symfonium or your spdif source) before switching sources does everything work as expected?
If you long hold pause in Symfonium (which acts as a stop) do you still have issues when switching sources? I'm able to recreate the problem with BubbleUPnP and Symfonium but only when I pause playback.
It appears that when WiiM is in a PAUSED_PLAYBACK (GetTransportInfo) state it attempts to...
If it's gapless then it must be enabled by default. The option is behind the cog on the renderer selection screen in Symfonium.
I only use Ethernet, but I guess I can try Bluetooth.
In BubbleUPnP the optimal settings for WiiM are to enable 'Gapless control' and 'Use Eventing'. I have no idea...
