I believe that's the way it's designed to work. If I start a music stream in the Amazon Music App, it plays on my iPhone. I then have to select what Echo devices (including WiiM Amp) I want it to play on by using the cast icon. Edit to add that I have auto connect enabled.

That was the factory "demo" version I bought from local Hi-Fi store. I like it because they made it clear to show off the internal workings. I don't really need it much with the Thiels, but it does add a nice feel to the sound.

I believe you can just remove the old device from the speaker group to accomplish what you want. I've moved devices around before and rename them in the beginning of the process. "Echo Old" would be the old one and "Echo New" is the one being swapped in. Then I delete the old one from the...

Yeah, the WiiM Amp isn't really a receiver (in my mind anyway) that passes through audio/video. Basically, the WiiM Amp is a replacement for amp and pre-amp separates. It takes inputs from Streaming, HDMI, Optical, etc. and outputs them to the speakers.

The Amp is audio only, so you can switch to another audio input on the Amp and the TV will continue to play as a TV and your sound will come from whatever source you pick.

We received different updates on the Amp. I noticed you were looking for some specific resolutions, so I guess they can update individual devices as needed?

In that case, I'm surprised I ever get an update. :)
