So when I record to minidisc from Amazon, because of the gapless playback, my recorder doesn't recognize individual tracks, so I end up with one long track

I know the Pro does the hot grail - gapless playback, but would it be possible to have the option to insert gaps between tracks? It would make my recording of minidiscs a lot easier.

That doesn't explain why coax is frequently considered to sound better than optical though.

In an ideal world, they should be identical. In practice however, the process of converting electrical signal to optical will inevitably have some impact on signal integrity

In theory yes - but there are other factors such as the optical output stage. In my case both are intact high quality cables and I have tried different DACs so I don't have any concerns on that front.

Having got a Pro this week, I swear Coax connection sounds noticeably better

It was literally just a 2-1 spliced cable. I ended up doing a single direct connection and used my DAC as a switching hub. I haven't tried using Bluetooth tbf

I had this using an optical splitter - you might need to reduce the output resolution to 48 khz max
