    Ethernet vs Wifi

Hello. Sorry that I'm late to the Wiim party. i've spent a couple of days with the Wiim +, with only limited expertise. When I connect the ethernet cable to the Wimm plus, the app says my signal is Weak. When I switclh to Wifi, the signal. is very good. Am I doing something wrong? The ethernet...

WiiM Pro no longer bit perfect?

Am I right in thinking that if I use Itunes as my music manager and AirPlay as my player, then Wiim will give me AAC? But if I switch out Wiim for an old Airport Express, I get lossless? I've checked quite a bit and that's the only way to get lossless through Apple? I know this is Apple's fault...

    Need some help deciding

Audirvana is like iTunes, but it's also a renderer, which means it's also an engine; iTunes with Airplay built in, and therefore can avoid all the Airplay problems. I open up Audivarna, select something, and it goes through the Wiim to my amp outfit and voila. It costs depending on choice, $100...

    Need some help deciding

I love it too. I have several Macs in the house, Airport Expresses, Time Capsules, iMacs, you name it. But this Airplay business has me fleeing from it. I'm now using Audirvana and Wiim. For Classical music, tlhe extra resolution shows; a Mahler symphony is a complex piece of sound to record and...

Stream FLAC audio from a MAC to a WiiM Pro

Brantome is right; Wiim doesn't downsample. Airplay does. Sorry, Wiimers.

From my understanding, if Airplay is in the mix anywhere, your signal will be downsampled.

Stream FLAC audio from a MAC to a WiiM Pro

As i have discovered, if you want anything more than 256 bitrate, you can't use Airplay 2. Wiim downsamples.

    Apple Music, 256 bitrate

That makes it useless to me and millions of others. It’s hardly an obscure player etc and WiiM should have mentioned this in its compatibility statements. Thank you for your time to answer!

    Apple Music, 256 bitrate

Thank you. Does this mean that even though it is processed by Wiim, the bitrate is now original, not AAC? Thanks.

    Apple Music, 256 bitrate

I can't find the solution anywhere here. I use Apple Music/Airplay/ to a Wiim Pro+, but everything is downgraded to 256kps. AAC. Even my hires music gets the AAC treatment. What am I doing wrong? Obviously something; Wiim wouldn't sell a product touting Airplay etc, knowing that it downgrades...
