No noise with any of my 4 transports. Now, those are fixed sampling rate whereas the Wiim changes according to the source track.
Wiim sent me a firmware update to try. Great response from Wiim!!!!
It would and I have contacted Topping but I see similar complaints on this thread. Same issue which, in my case I guess gets amplified when using XLR.
Reading some posts above the noise is related to shutting off and turning on the clocks which is on the Wiim.
My Toppping D90SE makes the noise only when using XLR, over RCA is quiet.
I tried the delay and it did not solve the problem.
Not a fan of the idea of forcing upsampling.
I wish I understood 10% of how to do this.
Question, does any of these work with a Fire stick? I have a fire stick on my projector (AWOL). I think the AWOL runs android; maybe I can add it as an app?
Thanks for the clarification and, for clarity, I was not trying to berate Wiim’s functionality.
My understanding was that if using the Amazon app on my phone (rather than Amazon music on the Wiim app) the Wiim was only a Bluetooth receiver.
I had already setup the Alexa and Amazon on Wiim...
@cc_rider correct the whole point of using the Wiim and not a Bluetooth receiver is to take the feed from Amazon “bit perfect” to my DAC rather to my iPhone’s DAC then to the Wiim.
The Amazon app on the iPhone is superb IMHO and I have quite a library of music highlighted and downloaded. I was...
I don’t want to stream from my Amazon Music app to Wiim (defeats the purpose).
Ideally we would be able to have access Tom our favorites and artist we follow on Amazon Music on the Wiim without having to identify the lm again.
I’ll jump in. It is a fact that wall warts can bring noise to the power lines and ground issues.
Proven here on my high resolving system so, if the wall warts that comes with the Wiim Pro affects the performance of other components in your audio chain then there is room for improvement.
Now...
Woohoo! Just received! Earlier than what Amazon indicated.
Hooked it up via Coax and playing now.
Have not been able to get Bluetooth to work yet.
Doing A/B comparisons of an album I know very well on my old souped up high end CD player vs Amazon HD.
Interesting that it sounds better...
