Apple TV connected to Wiim using Airplay

Hi,


I am considering a Wiim device to solve a problem with my Devialet speakers which provide an unreliable Airplay connection for some reason. The setup would be: Apple TV --airplay--> Wiim --spdif--> speakers.

Does anyone have experience with pairing an Apple TV to a Wiim device using Airplay? Is it reliable? I.e. do you have to regularly to reconnect or does it "just work" once set up?

Since a WiiM device is AirPlay 2 compatible, you should be able to do that and there is no good reason why it would be unreliable other than overall network issues or 2.4/5gHz interference issues such as microwave ovens etc...

That said, AirPlay 2 is a bit of a hot mess with little documentation, don't be surprised if the above is limited to 256AAC.
