I bought an iFi Zen phono preamp with 4 gain settings, so I started running like +64db and it sounds amazing and is still dead quiet on the noise floor. That was my concern with a big gain boost, but it’s great.

So is the pre-volume, just a “save volume adjustment by source” setting? It still looks like just a volume limit slider when I inspect the audio output setting on a given input source setting.

YES, just listen to Matt. Give each input a gain of up to like 125% - 150% (since you already have a max volume ceiling in the app)

That’s great news! I’m not surprised you had it in the works. This is from a different thread, but is there any chance we could get a controllable gain boost for the RCA Line In ? I added a +36db preamp to Record Player, and it’s still less than half the total volume as my digital music...

This is more what I was hoping for. I’m not the only one dealing with this, although most others haven’t even added a preamp at all. I just wonder if too much internal gain would add noise or not.

I understand that, but that’s not what I’m asking for. I want unique EQ’s saved per/input for each WiiM device. My living room turntables sounds very different than my kitchen TT. One globally selected EQ preference is way too broad IMO.

On further use, I now think this is a bug. I was listening to music last night from my USB library, then today I just turned on the tv and swapped input to HDMI and again I only got output signal from the Sub. I pulled the power cord again and rebooted the WiiM amp, and it works correctly...

I just pulled the plug and waited a bit then plugged it back it. It worked. Apparently it needed a full power cycle after that update. I know the last part of the update reboots, but it must not have fully restarted.

You just have so many things in the loop. The WiiM amp isn’t really made to work with an active sound bar. It’s best use is for passive speakers between the TV and those speakers.
