Any advantage to adding a passive preamp for Pro+?

I have a simple stereo system with a WiiM Pro Plus feeding directly into a Adcom power amp then to vintage ProAc speakers. Only source is the WiiM for streaming Spotify and Amazon Music HD. Since I use the Pro+ as the volume control I have "fixed volume output" disabled. Would there be any...

Blue Jeans Cable SPDIF optical cable works at 24/96 but not 24/192 kHz. Anyone know why? WiiM cable works at 24/192 kHz

See title. I have a brand new 1m optical cable from Blue Jeans Cable. It works on 24 bit / 96 kHz but not 24/192 when I play music on Amazon Music HD or the test audio in the WiiM Home app. The only way I can get 24/192 is with the included WiiM optical cable. UPDATE: actually, I bought 2 of...

So I want to output my turntable into the "line in" inputs in the Pro. The turntable is connected to a stereo preamp with a phono stage. I plan to do...

Turned out my problem was I was using some old S/PDIF optical cable that was limited to 96 kHz / 24 bit. I swapped that old cable for the included S/PDIF optical cable that came with the WiiM, and then I was able to listen in 192 kHz / 24 bit. I didn't realize that some older optical cables...
