Pro Plus optical out works but want to listen to onboard DAC but no line out signal

I have a Topping E70 Velvet on the way but wanted to try the onboard DAC but cannot get it to work for some reason, turn on the line out, switch device sending to for line in, nothing, works on both ends on optical but not line level and I did test the cable. Any ideas?

Wiim app, device, audio settings, line out level ??
Can't think of anything else - you seem to have covered the usual 'are you sure you set the output / input up correctly' responses!

Thanks, I tried everything I could find and think of and nothing worked, tried again just now and it works, go figure eh???
