One of the few remaining German audio print magazines (I call this publications audio softporn or yellow press) tested the WiiM Pro in their actual edition and praised it. Put the article for the German reading users below.
The ranking in their list is self explaining and eventually interesting for one or another.

The fourth image is the ranking, right?
WiiM Pro looks sixth from the bottom.

Had such a discussion before, asked the publisher and no problem because I owned the print magazine. And the digital version is available. Anyway, vielen Dank Richtung Steinerne Brücke 😉

Ha ha... Went to the city with my wife and kids today. We didn't quite get to the bridge, but close to. 😁
 
Okay. Just read the review now.

The Wiim Pro gets 99 points, the best in their list 196 points. WOAH! What a difference!

I wonder what it really does better though. Sound better? Maybe if you compare them next to one another. Easier operation and more features? Probably not. Heavier and better materials? No doubt.

Those Hifi magazines are a joke.
 
Agreed. This point systems get more and more senseless. The gear is tested over nearly 20 years and in all that time they "adjusted" may be three times. Another issue is that two magazines from the same publisher joined for one remaining product. It muted from a product with more and more advertising and industry dependence.
So with the jokes you are absolutely right.
Sure a product like a 20k Linn performs better. But how can anyone define how much better?
Found the article quite convenient to read and I know how good it feels an owned product is judged well 🤨
Have to confess that my vicious alter ego wants to remember once more some people that in every way the WiiMs are superb products, but they are far, far away from the high end some people see here. It is all related to the price tag! And the WiiMs are cheap entry levels not more and not less. With this knowledge I see no competitor for the WiiMs. The Node X or the iFi Neo Stream f.e. outpaces them with their inbuilt DACs from sound and build quality and more connectivity for higher costs. This could be called real life. But in my eyes the WHA is simply the best software. (As long as the developers do not overload it with every day requested, next and additional features.)

EVERY streamer is unnecessary. But they are nice to haves. And the more nice the more I want 😉

Huh? Every streamer is unnecessary? How would I get my music from the server in the bedroom to my stereo in the living room? I don't use any physical mediums. No, streamers are essential these days!
 
It was meant slight ironically 😉
But there was a time, long long ago, when no streamers exist. And people lived without. Streamers are nice toys and I do not want to miss them for convenience and information. They help to avoid buying crap. But necessary?? I will prefer and buy physical media till the end of my life!

Had to look it up: Wax cylinders were invented in 1889. You're telling us you were a child back then? o_O
