HomePod Stereo only playing from one HomePod

Since the most recent update- when I attempt to play to a stereo pair of HomePods, it will now turn on my Apple TV to enter a 4 digit code than it didn’t used to ask for.
After that it is hit or miss whether it will play to both HomePods or just one

It may or not be related, but when I attempt to select a single HomePod as the output device, WiiM Home decides I must need another AirPlay device (for stereo?) and randomly adds another WiiM Pro in a different room acting as AirPlay receiver. I already provided WiiM feedback detailing my experience.

I’m having the same issue as original post. I have only just brought Wiim pro so not sure how it preformed before updates! Do I need to raise this as an issue with @WiiM Support ?

Always a good idea to do that as they can then inspect your device log for clues
