No sound when connecting to Marantz NR 1607

No sound when connecting to Marantz NR 1607. I have tried the optical output, but no sound. How do I solve this?

Optical cable bad maybe.

It is the one I got with the Mini today.
Any idea how to connect from the aux output on the Mini to the Marantz?
Would I also need to change any settings in the Marantz menu as well then?
