Signal into “optical in” come out of “optical out”?

I am thinking of connecting an LDAC bluetooth receiver into the Wiim Pro’s optical input. Will the signal coming into the optical input come out of the Pro’s optical output? Basically, I want the LDAC bluetooth receiver to be a source, distribute the music to other WiiMs, but still use my external DAC.

How about connecting an ldac Bluetooth transmitter to the optical output to send audio to ldac headphones?
