Wiim Pro - Pixel 7 Control volume while phone locked.

Hey guys. I upgraded my Echo Link to a Wiim Pro. Everything's been pretty good so far, just trying to dial in audio settings.

I have one thing that's really bothering me though. While on my phone and in the wiim mobile app I can control the volume via the side buttons on my phone. Once I leave the app I can no longer control the volume with said buttons. The volume slider will still go up and down on my phone but nothing will happen on wiims end. Anyone have a fix for this?

I have the Wiim remote which works great but I don't want to always have to go inside to grab it. Wiim is the center of my outdoor audio system. Appreciate your time, thank you.

Are you using streaming?

In the case of Amazon music, if you use the Amazon music app to cast play, you can control it with the volume buttons even if the phone screen is off.

Have you tried AlexaCast?

Amazon music app > gear icon > Connect to device > Connect to Wiim pro

Or, tap the cast icon on Now playing screen.
