No amazon ultra HD via external DAC

Hi on the wiim app, on SPDIF output resolution I've selected 192khz + 24bits
It plays the tune + my external separate DAC it shows it's received a HD signal yet when I play a amazon music ultra HD track the HD light goes off, I have made sure inches wiim app I've selected HD/UHD for amazon music/ Then on amazon music app I've selected via the settings streaming quality HD/UHD + still when playing UHD tracks on my external DAC the HD/Hi-res light goes off??? Then I went back to the wiim Pro app and once again went to SPDIF output preferences and selected 192khz + 24 bit played test audio clicked yes and the test music played and the HD light came on my DAC'S front panel??? Any advice

You're right. Amazon has named 24bit UHD. However, as @Achim1811 says, we don't know what resolution your DAC defines as HD.

Try this as well.

Test all resolutions with "SPDIF Output Resolution" and check that the HD lamp is on.

No, Amazon music HD is 16 bit, normally16/44.1 and occasionally 16/48; while UHD is 24 bit from 24/48 up to 24/192

Doesn't the wiim pro upsamler to UHD?

No, WiiM devices are bit perfect and play what they’re sent up to the resolution you’ve set in the Wiim home app for your DAC

Don’t confuse amazon‘s terms with what your DAC thinks as HD. As I’ve said, anything 16bit from amazon is HD in their terminology, anything 24 bit us UHD. I don’t know what Naim claim HD to be.

Again, try all resolutions in the Wiim app audio test. Then you should know at what resolution the HD lamp lights up.

Some dacs, f.e. the iFi Zen have no display. But change led color from green up to 96 to yellow above 96. I can imagine your DAC has a similar "border" to switch to HD on.
Btw, the only dedicated DAC from NAIM is named DAC and was in their Classic Line. It is out of production for a while. Is it possible it shows above 48 as HD?

Can you post a screenshot of the pages in the Wiim home app when you chose browse from the main page, followed by alexa, and then the page shown when you choose the cog setting icon on that Alexa page? You should then see a page with settings for Alexa language and amazon music hd/uhd.
