WAV vs FLAC

I rip one of collection of music from CD to flash drive to use it on wiim amp. One format is wav and other is flac. In theory there should not be any difference since both are loseless. Why wav sound robust and dynamic vs same song on flac? In fact, wav even sounded better than those high resolution which sounded soft and lack dynamic. You think is just placebo effect?

To some degree, does it matter even if it is?

One school of thought is that the computational resources used to uncompress the flac can cause noise that affects the output.
